[ENSLAVEMENT] Manuscript announcement of the public sale of a "negro girl." Liberty, MO, 9 Aug. 1847


Manuscript broadside, one page, 7 3/4 x 8 3/4 in. Few small holes, abrasions, trimmed along upper edge, occasional stains and ink smears. 

In full: "Negro Girl at Public Sale. / I will sell to the highest bidder, on Monday the first day of Circuit Court of Clay County at Liberty one negro Girl belonging to the Estate of Peyton Y. G. Bartie[?] Dec.d. She is 20 years old. / Terms - a credit will be given till the 25th day of December next. - purchaser giving bond with approved security. / Ryland Shackelford, Admin. / Liberty August 9th 1847."
